#ConsciousContent Calendar: July 2020

Every day on social media, accounts are posting for holidays like “National Pancake Day'' that, despite how random the day might seem, expertly attract their audience’s attention.

But if you're managing multiple social media profiles while trying to align content to your nonprofit or start-up’s larger goals, it is almost impossible to keep up with these holidays. Not to mention that sharing pancakes probably isn’t relevant to your organization’s social media objectives or large-scale purpose.

There are, however, plenty of international days of recognition and advocacy that provide an opportunity for you to engage meaningfully with your audience and leverage interest for your own campaign objectives. And now with the #ConsciousContent Calendar, all of those dates are right here at your fingertips.

Bigger than breakfast foods:

We put together the #ConsciousContent Calendar as a simple, one-stop resource highlighting international days of advocacy, national holidays, and weeks dedicated to important causes, updated monthly. Why? To help you:

  • Join the conversation: use these dates and events as an opportunity to join the discussion happening online and put your work front and center.

  • Establish a strong and consistent brand voice: use the calendar to help establish your distinct brand and voice, and drive conversations about social issues and causes.

  • Plan (better) content, more easily: with all of these dates in one place, save time and streamline your content planning for Instagram, Facebook, or whatever platform your organization uses to reach your audience.

News flash - social media is no longer optional:

Users on all platforms pay attention to what their favorite accounts, businesses, brands and organizations are posting, especially in today’s climate. Transparency, authenticity and taking a clear and consistent position on your values impacts not only your number of followers, but also your ability to recruit volunteers and turn small donors into major ones. Days like International Nelson Mandela Day and World Hepatitis Day (both included in this month’s calendar!) provide opportunities for your brand to engage with social issues and causes simply through your social media content.

Post with purpose:

Social media also provides a unique opportunity to have direct communication with your audience; with intention and a little advance planning, you can make sure that communication is helping to drive your larger strategic goals. Don't scramble to keep up with the social media conversation or piggyback on a social media hashtag holiday that doesn't mean much for your audience. When you plan and post conscious content, you will likely attract a conscious audience, one that aligns with the goals and mission of your organization.

The #ConsciousContent Calendar is going to simplify your work while also helping to build your brand’s voice and allow you to participate in important conversations on social media. Each event on the calendar includes a description and a link for more information about the date. Make sure to check back next month for our August Calendar!
